Oral Health

Oral health is about more than just absence of disease, it is about achieving and maintaining an optimum level of dental well-being for life. Routinely screening outside and inside the mouth for oral cancer will help identify problems early and examining how your jaws and teeth open and close gives insight into the kinds of challenges your teeth will encounter in function.

The accumulation of plaque and calculus around the teeth and under the gums can result in a cascade of problems starting with bleeding gums which can be a sign gum disease and includes gingivitis and the more severe periodontitis, bone loss, halitosis (bad breath), tooth decay and eventual tooth loss. Routine cleanings help remove plaque, calculus and biofilm which contain harmful microbes, promoting a lifetime of oral health and wellbeing. The most beneficial dental care you we all need is effective self-care in preventing problems and we will help guide you with this.

Extractions

In some cases you may need to have a tooth removed. Whether it’s a problematic wisdom tooth, decayed or traumatised tooth, we will endeavour to make the procedure as comfortable as possible for you, ensuring profound local anaesthesia before proceeding. Sutures may be placed to help secure the gum and encourage healing. Extractions can be a difficult experience for you so we take your after-care personally with a follow up courtesy call whenever possible.

Composite white fillings

Chipped, broken or decayed teeth can be restored with tooth-coloured composite resin-based and glass-ionomer materials which adhere to the tooth being restored. We only use carefully selected white filling materials to restore your teeth at Anne’s Lane Dental.

White Composite Bonding

We take our restorative dental materials seriously at Anne’s Lane Dental, so we choose only premium tooth-coloured composite dental materials to restore your teeth. Functional yet highly aesthetic tooth-coloured composite restorative materials will be carefully bonded for you, contoured and textured to match your natural tooth. Whenever possible, an isolation sheet called a rubber dam will be used for your comfort and to optimise bonding conditions for a long-lasting result.

Teeth Whitening

Our bespoke whitening kits provide the maximum permissible concentration whitening gels by prescription within the EU, giving the optimal balance between effectiveness and comfort. In-chair whitening is also available on request, where time is of the essence. Achieve the results you want, when you want it, right in the heart of Dublin city centre, just off Grafton Street.

Veneers

We want you to feel amazing about your smile! Highly aesthetic all-ceramic veneers can change the color, shape and size of your teeth and completely transform your smile! They are very thin layers of all-ceramic restorations adhesively bonded to meticulously prepared tooth, always taking a minimally invasive approach to conserve as much tooth structure as possible. Only resin-bonded high glass-content ceramic veneers are used at Anne’s Lane Dental, providing the optimum balance of aesthetics and function.

Orthodontics

Gone are the days of broken wires and flossing nightmares! Clear aligner therapy is a proven way to achieve healthy tooth movement with ease of brushing and flossing, and without the appearance of metal brackets and wires. Aligner therapy to correct the position of teeth followed by aesthetic composite bonding to improve final tooth shape and size can give amazing results and we get excited about doing combination cases like this.

Dentures

Dentures are removable prosthetic appliances to replace missing teeth. They can be either full or partial. At Anne’s Lane Dental we plan and take careful consideration of the natural condition of adjacent teeth, if required, we meticulously prepare teeth for an optimal denture fit. There are various kinds of dentures available, talk to us if this is something you might consider.

Crown & Bridge

When fillings become larger than the remaining tooth, an aesthetic yet functional full or partial crown can help cover and protect it. We understand the range of materials available so we can advise the best option for your specific needs.
Missing teeth can be replaced with a bridge that consists of one or multiple crowns spanning the gap between remaining adjacent teeth. A bridge can solve the same problem as an implant, and is an alternative option for patients, depending on their particular needs and circumstances.
Contemporary all-ceramic and resin-ceramic hybrid dental materials offer a highly aesthetic yet functional solution and we only use premium materials to fabricate your restoration, carefully selected for your specific needs.

Root Canal

Endodontic treatment saves teeth that would otherwise have been extracted. It involves the removal of the pulp tissues from the tooth in the event of irreversible inflammation or infection.

Inlays & Onlays

Ceramic or hybrid ceramic-composite inlays or onlays are like partial crowns and can be highly effective in restoring teeth which have a large cavity or broken cusp. They are a beautifully aesthetic restoration option which help mitigate elective endodontic therapy, particularly where preparation for full coverage crowns would further compromise the tooth. We are happy to discuss whether this option is right for you.

Implants

A dental implant replaces the root of a missing tooth, upon which a crown or bridge can be fitted. Implants are surgically positioned into the jaw beneath your gum. Some people who have lost bone in their jaw can still get implants, but the bone may require augmentation with a bone graft. Dentures can also be supported by and retained with dental implants, giving confidence and comfort while eating, speaking and smiling. After receiving implants, regular follow-up visits are essential to maintain good oral health. We only use carefully selected premium implant surgical and restorative materials.
